Americana, Folk Rock, and Blues all come together when Gabby Haze mixes tight harmonies and an unusual assortment of instruments including autoharp, sax, flute, 2 acoustic guitars, mandolin, harmonica and stand up bass. The result is a selection of original songs written by band members Dave Magnone and Dan Layman along with covers of The Beatles, John Prine, Arlo Guthrie, The Band, Bob Dylan, John Sebastian, Hootie Ledbetter, The Rolling Stones, Steve Goodman and Hank Williams. When Gabby Haze does covers, they don't try to sound like the original artists, they play the tunes in their own style.

Dave Magnone: Guitar and Vocals

Dan Layman: Autoharp and Vocals

Carl Bailey: Sax, Flute, and Vocals

Bill Yetzer: Harmonica

Jess Layman Herr: Guitar and Vocals

J Herr: Mandolin

Jerry Fretwell: Bass

Dave, Dan, Carl and Bill have been playing together since the 70s. Jess (Dan's daughter) has been singing and playing with her dad for as long as she can remember. She and her husband J joined the band in 2005. The newest member is Jerry Fretwell who joined the band this year. Jerry has been playing bluegrass "pretty much forever", but is also enjoying playing a variety of music with Gabby Haze.

The CD

Gabby Haze released their CD, Living Room Music, in August 2007 at a benefit concert at Prince Michel Winery. The CD features 11 original songs by Dave Magnone and Dan Layman and one song by a good friend of Dan and Dave's, Bill Leustig. CDs are available for $12.50 including shipping and handling.
